Websites for dental practices

Before they get in touch

What customers check before choosing dental practices

  1. 1

    Are you taking new patients?

The first question almost everyone asks. A straight answer on NHS and private availability saves your reception team hours.

  2. 2

    What will it cost?

People want to see prices for check-ups, fillings, hygiene and whitening before they commit. A clear fee list builds trust.

  3. 3

What if I'm in pain now?

Emergency appointments, out-of-hours numbers and what to do at the weekend need to be on the homepage, not hidden.

  4. 4

Will you be gentle with me?

A lot of adults avoid the dentist out of fear. They read the site looking for signs that you understand.

The write-up

What a dental practice website needs to answer

Most people arrive at a dental practice website with one question: can you see me? Too many sites dodge it. They talk about a passion for smiles and leave the patient ringing reception to find out the practice isn’t taking NHS patients and hasn’t for two years. That’s a wasted call for both of you.

We put availability first. The homepage says plainly whether you’re accepting new NHS, private or plan patients, and what to do if you’re not. When that changes, you email us a line and we update it, usually the same day. Next to it sits a clear fee list for private treatment and any monthly plans, with a link to current NHS charges where they apply. People who can see prices up front tend to book rather than shop around.

Emergencies get their own space. Someone with a swollen jaw on a Saturday wants to know if you hold emergency slots, how to get one and what to do when you’re closed, including NHS 111. That information goes on the homepage and works on a phone.

Then there are nervous patients, and there are a lot of them. We write a calm, honest page about what happens at a first visit and what you offer for anxious patients, with photos of your actual surgery and team instead of a stock model in a white coat. The team page shows each registered professional with their GDC number and a link to the public register. Dental advertising has rules of its own, so we keep claims measured and ask you to check the wording against current GDC guidance. Booking links go to the system you already use, and enquiries email reception directly.

Questions from dental practices

How should we describe NHS availability?

Honestly and simply. If you’re not taking new NHS patients, say so and explain your private or plan options. We can update the wording by email whenever your position changes.

Can you publish our fee list?

Yes. We set out your private fees and plan prices clearly, and can link to the current official NHS charges. Check current guidance from the GDC and NHS bodies on what your site needs to show.

Can patients book online?

We add clear links to the online booking system you already use. We don’t build booking or payment systems ourselves, so your diary stays in your practice software.

Can you show GDC numbers for the team?

Yes. Each registered professional can have their name, role and GDC number shown, with a link to the public register so patients can check.

How much does it cost?

£47 a month, including design, writing, hosting and ten changes a month. There’s no setup fee and no contract.
