Typical UK website prices for a small business
There are three common ways to pay for a small business website in the UK. Each one moves the cost, and the work, to a different place.
Building it yourself
A website builder or cheap hosting looks like the lowest price. If you build it yourself on our cPanel web hosting, it’s £2.99 a month plus a domain (a .co.uk is £8.01 a year). The real cost is your time: choosing a layout, writing every page, sorting the photos and keeping it up to date.
Paying for a one-off build
A freelancer or agency charges for the build up front. A small agency project of around £2,000 is common, and bigger agencies quote far more. After launch you’ll usually still pay for hosting, the domain renewal, and each change you ask for, either by the hour or on a retainer.
Paying monthly

What to compare
