DNS records you can edit

How it works

How we set up your domain and email

  1. 01

    Choose or bring a domain

Tell us the domain you want, or the one you already have. If you already own one, we’ll tell you exactly which setting to change, or handle it for you.

  2. 02

    We set up the DNS

We point the domain at your new website, install the SSL certificate and protect the records that keep it online.

  3. 03

    We set up email forwarding

Tell us which addresses you want, such as hello@ or bookings@, and which inbox they should go to.

Domains and email for small businesses

Domain name and email for a small business

A proper domain and a matching email address are two of the cheapest ways to look established. An address like hello@yourbusiness.co.uk on a van or an invoice reads very differently to a free webmail address. With our £47 a month managed website, the domain and the email forwarding are both included, and we set them up for you.

Should I choose .co.uk or .com?

If you work in the UK and mostly serve UK customers, a .co.uk is the usual choice. It tells people straight away that you’re a British business. A .com suits firms that sell further afield, or when the .co.uk you want has gone. Some businesses register both. You can check what’s free with our domain name checker.

How does email forwarding work?

We set up addresses on your domain, such as hello@yourbusiness.co.uk or bookings@yourbusiness.co.uk, and forward every message to an inbox you already use, such as Gmail or Outlook. You keep reading your email where you always have. There’s no new mailbox to set up and nothing extra to pay.

Forwarding is not a full mailbox. If you need separate mailboxes for staff, a service such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace is the usual answer, and you can add the DNS records they ask for from your account.

What is DNS and do I need to touch it?

DNS is the set of records that tells the internet where your website and email live. We set it up when your site launches, so most customers never look at it. If another service asks you to add a record to prove you own the domain, you can add it in your account. The records that keep your website online are locked so they can’t be deleted by mistake.

Who owns my domain?

You do. A domain registered through us belongs to your business. If you ever leave, we transfer it to you free of charge, and you can follow the transfer and get the unlock code through your account. Read what happens to my domain if I leave or see ownership and security for the full picture.

I already have a domain. Can I keep it?

Yes, at the same price. Tell us the domain and we’ll walk you through pointing it at your new site. It’s usually one setting at your current registrar. If you’d rather, we’ll handle it for you.

Just need a domain, without a website?

You can register or transfer a domain on its own through our billing site. A .co.uk, .uk, .org.uk or .me.uk is £8.01 a year, a .com is £12.72, a .org is £14.13 and a .net is £14.61. Register a domain or transfer a domain to us. If you’d like to run your own site too, see our web hosting plans from £2.99 a month.
