We write the words
Tell us about your work on a short call or questionnaire. We write every page, so you don’t have to stare at a blank screen after a long day.
Design and hosting
We design the site and host it on our UK servers, with an SSL certificate, backups and security monitoring.
Your domain name

Email forwarding
An address like hello@yourname.co.uk forwarded into the inbox you already use, such as Gmail or Microsoft 365.
Enquiry forms and reviews
A contact form that sends enquiries to your inbox, plus help with reviews and your Google Business Profile.
10 changes a month

Who a £47 a month website suits, and who it doesn't
We’d rather tell you now than have you pay for something that doesn’t fit.
It suits you if
- You're a one-person business that wins work from calls, messages and enquiries
- You'd rather spend your evenings on paperwork or family than on a website builder
- You want a site that looks professional next to bigger firms
- You want someone to change it for you when prices or services change
Look elsewhere if
- You need a full online shop with stock control and card payments
- You need customer logins or online booking built into the site
- You enjoy designing and want to edit every page yourself
- You only want hosting for a site you already run (see our hosting plans)
Do sole traders need a website?
Most sole traders get work by word of mouth. The trouble is that word of mouth now nearly always ends with a search. Someone recommends you to a neighbour, and the neighbour looks you up before they ring. If they find a proper website with your services, the areas you cover and a way to get in touch, you look like a safe pair of hands. If they find nothing, or an old Facebook page, they might ring the next name on the list.
A website also gives you a fixed place for the things customers keep asking. Which villages do you cover? Do you do weekends? Roughly how much is a typical job? Put those answers on your site and you spend less time on the phone repeating them.
It suits all sorts of people who work for themselves: an electrician in Shrewsbury, a dog groomer in Newtown, a driving instructor, a cleaner, a landscaper, a photographer or a bookkeeper working from home.
Website for sole traders: costs compared with a DIY builder
A DIY website builder looks cheaper on paper. It usually costs around £15 to £40 a month, and you still have to choose a layout, write every page, sort the photos and keep it up to date. That normally takes 20 to 60 hours to get right. For someone who already works long days, those hours are the real cost.
With us it’s £47 a month and we do the work. We write the words, design the pages, look after the hosting and your domain, and make changes when you email us. There’s no setup fee, so you’re not paying a large bill before you’ve had a single enquiry. If you’d like the full picture, our compare page sets a website builder, a freelancer, an agency and our service side by side, and website costs breaks down where the money goes.
How it works
You sign up and tell us about your work on a short call or by filling in a questionnaire. We write the pages and design the site, and the first draft is often ready the same day. You check it, ask for anything you want changed, and approve it. Most sites are live in 2 to 3 working days. Our how it works page goes through it step by step.
After that, you just email us when something changes: a new price, a new service, a photo from a recent job or a holiday notice. Up to 10 changes a month are included.
What’s yours
The domain is registered in your name and the words are yours. If you ever leave, we’ll transfer the domain for free. See ownership and security for the detail, or the pricing page for everything in the £47.
Sole trader website questions
How much is a website for a sole trader?
£47 a month with no setup fee. That covers design, writing, hosting, SSL, backups, your domain, email forwarding and up to 10 changes a month.
Do I have to write anything myself?
No. You tell us about your work on a short call or questionnaire and we write every page. You just check it and tell us what to change.
Is there a contract?
No. You pay monthly and can cancel any time from your billing page, with no notice period.
How do I get changes made?
Email us. New prices, photos, services or holiday dates all count as changes, and up to 10 a month are included. Most are done the same day.
Can I use my own email address with the website?
Yes. Email forwarding is included, so an address like hello@yourname.co.uk arrives in the inbox you already use, such as Gmail or Microsoft 365. We don’t sell extra mailboxes.
I already have a domain name. Can I keep it?
Yes. We can point it at your new website and leave it where it is, or transfer it to us later if you’d like everything in one place.
How long until my website is live?
The first draft is often ready the same day. Most sites are live in 2 to 3 working days, depending on how quickly you check it.
