Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
When you are charged
The first payment is taken when you confirm your brief, before any design work begins. After that it is the same date each month.
Updating your card
From your dashboard, go to Billing and choose to manage your subscription. That opens Stripe’s own secure portal, where you can update your card, see past invoices and download receipts.
We deliberately do not handle card details ourselves — it is safer for you and it means a card change happens instantly rather than going through us.
If a payment fails
Cards expire, get replaced after fraud, or get declined because the bank was suspicious of a recurring charge. It happens.
Here is what we do about it:
- We email you as soon as a payment fails, with a link to update your card.
- Stripe retries automatically over the following days.
- Your site stays online. We do not take a website down the day a card bounces.
- Your dashboard shows a notice so it is visible when you sign in.
If it still has not been resolved after a grace period, we get in touch directly before doing anything else. Nobody’s website disappears without a conversation first.
Why has my card been declined?
The most common reasons, in order:
- Expired card. Update it in the billing portal.
- New card issued. Banks reissue after a fraud alert without the old details carrying over.
- Bank blocked a recurring payment. Especially common on business cards and with some app-based banks. A quick call to your bank fixes it.
- Insufficient funds on the day the payment fell.
Invoices and receipts
Every invoice is in the Stripe portal, linked from your billing page. You can download PDFs for your accountant at any time.
If you need your business name, address or VAT number on the invoices, tell us and we will set it on your account.
Changing the payment date
Not directly, but cancelling and restarting would move it. If the date is genuinely a problem — it falls the day before you get paid, say — get in touch and we will sort something out.
Something looks wrong on my bill
Tell us straight away. We would much rather refund something incorrect than have you discover it three months later.
