Every roofer knows the pattern. A gale comes through, the phone does not stop for a fortnight, and then it goes quiet again. Meanwhile the work you would rather have — full re-roofs, flat roof replacements, lead and slate on period properties — goes to firms whose names people already know.
The difference is rarely skill. It is that a homeowner planning an eight thousand pound re-roof spends two weeks looking, and looking means searching. If the only thing they can find about you is a phone number on a van that drove past, you are not in that comparison.
A proper website changes which jobs come to you, not just how many. It is the difference between being the person who patches a ridge tile in November and the person who gets asked to quote the whole roof in spring.
