A society day is twenty-four green fees, twenty-four bacon rolls and twenty-four two-course meals in a single booking, often repeated every year for a decade. It is comfortably the most valuable enquiry a club receives.

The person organising it is a volunteer with a spreadsheet and three clubs to compare, doing it in the evening after work. They want a package price, a minimum number, a date they can pencil in and a name to email. If they have to ring during office hours to find any of that out, one of the other two clubs gets the day.

We have seen clubs add a single proper society page and take bookings they had been losing for years without knowing it. Nothing else on a golf club website has that ratio of effort to return, and it takes about twenty minutes of your time to tell us what to put on it.
