Learner numbers spike every August and every January. Being on page one before the rush is the whole game.Start my website
For ADIs, PDIs and small driving schools

Every learner in your town starts in the same place, and it is not a recommendation.

They search for driving lessons and their town, on a phone, usually the week they turn seventeen or the week their provisional arrives. Then they compare four instructors on price, availability and whether the reviews sound like a normal person. If you are not in that list you are relying entirely on word of mouth, which is a lovely way to get clients and a terrible way to fill a gap on a Tuesday afternoon.

What learners and parents want to know

The page that turns a search into a booking

Price per hour and block rates

With whether the first lesson is discounted and what a ten-hour block costs. Nothing loses a learner faster than having to ask.

The areas you cover

Towns, villages and postcodes by name. This is how you appear in searches for the next town over, and it is the simplest ranking win available to an instructor.

Your grade and your credentials

ADI green badge, DVSA grade, years teaching, whether you are a Pass Plus registered instructor. Parents look for exactly this.

Availability, honestly stated

Whether you have a waiting list, how long it is, and which slots come up. A learner who knows it is three weeks will wait; one who hears nothing books elsewhere.

Pass rate and reviews

If yours is good, say it. If you have a wall of thank-you messages, they belong on the site rather than in a phone.

Nervous and older learners

A large, under-served group who will drive past three instructors to reach the one whose website says they are patient with anxious drivers.

Two people decide, and only one of them is learning

The learner

Seventeen, on a phone, comparing four instructors in about five minutes. They care about the hourly rate, whether the car is a manual or an automatic, and whether you sound approachable.

They will read your reviews properly and they will notice if the site looks like nobody has touched it in years — that is read as a business that might cancel on them.

The parent paying

Almost always footing the bill and frequently the one who makes the call. They want to know you are a fully qualified ADI, that you are insured, that the car is dual controlled and reasonably modern, and that you are a safe adult to put their child in a car with for forty hours.

They are also budgeting. A block booking price and a rough number of hours to test standard lets them plan, and an instructor who helps them plan is the one they ring.

The maths for an instructor

2 hoursPays for the month

Two lessons at a typical hourly rate covers the whole cost of the site.

Common questions

What instructors ask

I am with a franchise. Can I still have my own site?

Check your agreement, because some restrict it. Many instructors build one specifically so that they own something when they eventually go independent — the domain and the site come with you.

I am fully booked with a waiting list. Why would I need this?

Then a page that captures the waiting list properly, with names and rough dates, is worth more to you than an enquiry form. It also means the gap left when four learners pass in the same fortnight fills itself.

Can people book lessons on it?

It sends you an enquiry with their name, number, whether they have a provisional and roughly when they want to start. Instructors almost always want that first conversation before committing a slot, so we have not tried to automate it away.

I teach automatic only. Does that change anything?

Say so loudly and it becomes an advantage. Automatic-only instructors are in short supply in most towns and learners search specifically for them.
