Nearly every barber we speak to says the same thing: I have got a Google listing, people find me on the map, why would I need a website?
It is a fair point and the listing genuinely is doing most of the heavy lifting. But two things sit underneath it. The first is that a Google listing with a real website attached ranks better than one without — Google is more confident a business is real when there is a site behind it, and in a town with nine barbershops that difference decides who is in the top three.
The second is that the listing gives someone a phone number and a pin. It does not give them your full price list, your barbers, a gallery of your fades, or the fact you do wedding parties on a Saturday morning before opening. The listing gets you found. The site is what makes somebody choose you over the shop two doors down that also got found.
