Rates include breakfast, the garden, and the sitting room fire. Dinner is charged separately so that nobody pays for a meal they did not eat.

The two largest rooms in the house, both on the ground floor with their own doors onto the walled garden. A separate sitting area, a writing desk in the window, and a roll-top bath positioned to look out rather than at a wall.
From £225 a night · Six available
First-floor rooms with the original shutters, working fireplaces and tall sash windows. Four look south across the paddock towards the village church; two look into the top of a copper beech, which is arguably better.
From £165 a night · Four available
Top-floor rooms tucked under the roof, with sloping ceilings and the best views in the building. Nothing above them and only the stairs below, which makes them the quietest place to sleep here.
Two-night minimum on Saturdays between May and September. Dogs are £20 a stay rather than a night, and they are allowed everywhere except the dining room. Children over twelve are very welcome; under twelve, we are honestly not the right house.
