We automatically cache all static content hosted on our severs, including JavaScript, CSS and images. This means your website benefits from huge performance improvements compared to the average shared web hosting account.

If you update your website, you can manually purge all of these files and force the CDN to fetch the most recent files, or wait and our system will automatically find the most recent version of each file and cache these for you.

Dynamic caching provides you the ability to use publich Cache-Control and Expires headers. Once these are enabled, you can start using storying important content in this caching system by configuring your applications to use these headers. Any cookie based server interactions will not be cached.

Combining this with the other caching tools and full page caching, your time to first byte (TTFB) will be reduced by a considerable amount. You can also check to see what is being cached by checking the X-CDN-Cache-Status header in your developer console.

You can customise how each asset is handled by our caching tools, specifically below:

• Image Cache - Set how long we should store images in the CDN.

• CSS Cache - Allows you to set how long CSS, Fonts and other CSS files are kept for.

• JavaScript Cache - Set expiry of JavaScript held assets in the cache, .

This gives you greater control over how you setup your caching options and how our caching tools interact site.

If you need to clear the website cache for any reason you can do so with the click of a button. This allows you to update the cached files if you've made changes and they aren't showing.

Why would I need to Purge?

You would need to purge your website's cached files if you've made any changes to the website recently and they aren't showing on the live version. This will prompt the CDN to fetch the most recent files.

Temporarily disable caching to allow you to complete any development or testing related activities. This will allow you to modify and edit your website files in real time, seeing changes as you make them.

Caching will automatically be turned back on after a 3 hour period, so no need to worry if you forget. The server will then go back to pushing the most recent version of your website to all CDN network servers.

Lazy loading allows your website to initially load only what the user will see. Once scrolling takes place the server will progressively load the remaining sections of your website.

This increases the time to first byte and allows the user to have near instant loading speeds onto the page. Lazy loading will also help with SEO, as speed indexes will remain very high, even if you have large pages with lots of images or video.
